    Getting back on track...

Saturday, April 12, 2008, 12:37 PM AEST [General]

    So...

Things are getting back on track finally, My husband has been out of hospital for a while, is able to drive and has a new job that he started on Thursday! I also have a new job and it looks like we are going to be living in Brisbane for a while now.

This means that we have had to make a number of changes to our life... we had to give the goat and sheep away and we have a housesitter living in our house in SA. The house we are living in up here is going to be ours in about 4 days (so exciting, living in amongst someone else's things is hard - I am looking forward to getting candles and plants happening again!)

Hopefully this all means that in the next little while I will have time to be able to get back to my study and process some of the stuff that has happened in the last few months. Then I should be able to write on here a little more often - when I have something to say!

    That's about all for now,

    Hope you are all well...

    Love and blessings,

    Gypsy

    Bad news

Saturday, January 5, 2008, 09:00 PM AEST [General]

So, my new years and all that has not been the best. My Husband has had a stroke. It happened on the morning of the 26th of December. A major bleed in the brain which has caused him to be paralysed on his left side. He has been in hospital since then and is looking at another two months in hospital and rehab.

The doctors do expect him to make a full recovery but that it will take time. This is a big lesson in patience for him - something he has never had much of.

Anyhow I was just letting you all know what is happening with me...

    LAO PDR!!!!

Thursday, November 15, 2007, 10:59 AM AEST [General]

It happened! My husband and I are going to the Lao PDR (also known as Laos) next year for at least 3 months! we just found out about half an hour ago... I am so excited!! I loved Lao last time and made friends with some people that I am already looking forward to seeing again.

I am also looking forward to going to all the great shops and restaurants there (the BEST Australian and French food I've ever had, and it's in the middle of a third world country in South East Asia!)

Departure date is uncertain right now because of my current job but it will likely be around the end of Feb... so much to do in the meantime!

I'm going to go and try and do some work now while bouncing about the office!

    Love and blessings,

     Gypsy

    Travelling

Thursday, November 1, 2007, 05:26 PM AEST [General]

So, it looks like the future is full of travel... I am heading up to Brisbane for three weeks over the Christmas/New Year period (my husband's family is very big on christmas as a family gathering so I tend to get pulled in even though I am still not sure after three years about the whole celebrating a festival that not only means little to me but the closest thing in meaning is at the opposite time of the year - oh well *shrugs*)

I am looking forward to going though - I love Brissy and have a number of friends who I have been missing, well two or three anyhow.

After that it seems that we will be going overseas in Feb again. Last year we spent 6 months overseas (2 months in Laos *lovely*, 3 months in Java (Indonesia) *terrible* and the other month spread around Thailand *Insanely big but beautiful - Bangkok*, Singapore *Soooo clean - will go back for longer next time!* and Hong Kong *big, busy, polluted but on the whole pretty good*!) which was in general great (except for Java) and especially Laos, which we really loved.

So my husband got invited to apply for another volunteer position in Laos this week which could start in Feb and of course he did apply! Now we just have to wait for a couple of weeks to find out if they have chosen him.

If this doesn't come through we will probably move to New Zealand for a while (like a year) - well that's what we are thinking anyhow... But Laos would be sooooo much better *crosses fingers and sends good vibes to the universe!*

When we finally do go overseas we will need a house sitter to look after our animals and house/furniture etc... so I should probably start looking for one.... any ideas?

    IT RAINED!!!

Wednesday, October 10, 2007, 03:49 PM AEST [General]

It rained today!! Now, by rained, I mean, a small amount (approx. 2mls) but it was heavy, loud and thundery and it hasn't rained here for about 6 months!! (It didn't rain all winter :( ) It smelled sooo good, if it hadn't been so cold (and I wasn't at work) I would have just stood in it!

I hope it rained at home too, although our sheep and goat would probably not be too impressed if it has, oh well, they should get used to it as I hope it will rain more this summer.
